Founder and President
María Cristina Moroles is a dedicated healer, spiritual leader, and the founder of Arco Iris Earth Care Project, an initiative rooted in Indigenous earth care principles and the healing power of nature. With decades of experience in traditional healing practices, she has guided countless individuals in reconnecting with the land, their ancestors, and themselves.
Through ceremony, storytelling, and earth stewardship, María Cristina fosters a deep sense of community and belonging, ensuring that sacred traditions continue to thrive. Her work is a testament to the power of healing, inclusion, and the profound relationship between people and the Earth.
Jenny Moroles
Treasurer
Jenny Moroles, daughter of María Cristina Moroles, continues the legacy of healing, community, and earth stewardship through her deep connection to the Arco Iris Earth Care Project. Growing up immersed in Indigenous traditions and spiritual teachings, she has embraced the path of cultural preservation and environmental care.
With a passion for inclusion and healing, Jenny works to create spaces where people can reconnect with nature and themselves. She is committed to ensuring that the wisdom and traditions passed down through generations continue to inspire and guide future stewards of the Earth.
Francisco Ayala-Silva
Board Member
Francisco Ayala-Silva is a journalist whose career has taken him from El Salvador to South Korea and the United States. As the former editor of La Prensa Libre, Arkansas’s Spanish-language newspaper, he first visited Rancho Arco Iris to write a story on María Cristina Moroles—and never truly left. Though he now resides in Pittsburgh, working with refugees and enjoying life with his son, his heart remains deeply connected to the sacred land of Arco Iris.
Francisco is dedicated to uplifting diverse voices and telling stories that matter, with a focus on social justice, environmental stewardship, and cultural preservation. His expertise in media and communication strengthens Arco Iris’s mission, helping to share its vision of healing, inclusion, and Indigenous earth care with a broader audience.
Karen Milla
Board Member
Karen Milla is a dedicated Board Member of Arco Iris Earth Care Project. Originally from Honduras, Karin immigrated to the United States with a deep passion for family, community, and spirituality. She is married and a proud mother of five children. Alongside her roles as a loving wife and mother, Karen is a farmer, hair stylist, and numerologist who brings a unique blend of creativity and intuition to everything she does. A lover of life, Karen is committed to supporting Arco Iris in its mission while also nurturing the spiritual and communal bonds that drive her personal and professional life.
Eric Schulte
Board Member
Eric Schulte is an experienced professional with a strong background in IT security. As Board Member for Arco Iris Earth Care Project, Eric provides essential support for the organization’s technological needs, helping to ensure that its systems and digital presence are secure and effective. His expertise in cybersecurity and information technology plays a critical role in supporting the organization's mission and its efforts to grow and serve the community with greater impact.
Barbara Schulte
Board Member
Barbara Schulte is a former high school teacher with a passion for communication and design. Currently, she serves as a Communications Specialist/Graphic Artist for a small city, where she manages social media, captures compelling photos, and creates diverse graphic designs to engage the community
As a Board Member for Arco Iris Earth Care Project, Barbara brings her expertise in visual storytelling and digital communication to help amplify the organization’s message. She plays a key role in creating engaging content and ensuring the organization’s online presence aligns with its mission of earth stewardship and cultural healing.
Mario DeColores
Wild Magnolia Ranger
Mario DeColores is the Wilderness Ranger for Wild Magnolia Land Trust and the son of María Cristina Moroles. Born and raised in the Ozark Mountains, Mario is a Coast Guard veteran with emergency wilderness first aid training. He is responsible for maintaining roads, managing trails, and ensuring safety during programming at Santuario Arco Iris.
This year, Mario located two freshwater springs and expanded the trail system, now offering four hiking paths. He also monitors wildlife cameras, tracking sightings of animals like bears, foxes, and deer, and keeps an eye on the health of medicinal herbs and native trees. Mario’s work helps protect the land while ensuring a safe, enjoyable experience for visitors.
Virginia Vega
Advisory Board Member
Virginia Vega is a dedicated Advisory Board Member for Arco Iris Earth Care Project, bringing her passion for community development and environmental stewardship to support its mission. With a deep commitment to cultural preservation and social inclusion, she helps guide the project’s efforts to create spaces that connect people to the Earth and each other.
Virginia’s journey with María Cristina Moroles and Arco Iris began through her work in radio broadcasting, where she produced public service announcements and community programs. She wanted to bring María Cristina on the air to share her knowledge and vision—an introduction that led to a lasting collaboration.
Her expertise in community engagement and strong ties to Northwest Arkansas allow her to offer valuable insights that advance Arco Iris’s vision of sustainability, healing, and connection. Her work continues to support efforts to protect the land and honor traditions that sustain both the environment and the community.
Lucia Aleman
Advisory Board Member
Lucia Aleman is a first-generation Latina with a Law degree from UAEM in Mexico and a Master’s in Latin American Studies and Spanish Literature from the University of Arkansas. She serves as an Associate Regional Director for a national nonprofit, overseeing services for unaccompanied immigrant children from Mexico and Latin America. A mother of four, Lucia has been a pioneer in the labor movement in Northwest Arkansas, advocating for the rights of poultry industry workers.
Her dedication to social justice led her to María Cristina Moroles and Rancho Arco Iris, where she found a deep connection to its mission. Twenty years later, she continues to support Arco Iris as an Advisory Board Member, bringing her passion for advocacy and community empowerment.
